Meg Harris, LPC, LSW

MENTAL HEALTH EXPERT
Meg Harris is a Licensed Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, and a Nationally Certified Trauma Therapist, practicing in the mental health field for over thirty years. During her career Meg has worked closely with community entities for the betterment of young people and to help families heal from adversity.

Meg’s professional development and experience includes being certified in Transition to Independence Programming, she is a Train the Trainer for the State of Ohio’s Trauma Informed Care Collaborative, and a member of Alta Care Group Head Start Advisory Board. Most recently, Meg has been chosen as the co-leader in Mahoning County’s Trauma Informed Care initiative: Stand Grow Thrive.

Meg supervises Community Support Services, Nursing Services, Trauma Services, and Infant Mortality (Baby Bump) Services at Alta Behavioral Healthcare. Meg is a member of the Mahoning County Crisis Intervention Team advisory committee and provides community training on Trauma Informed Care throughout the state of Ohio.

Meg’s focus throughout her career has been on children and families who have extensive histories of abuse, neglect, mental health difficulties and trauma.

In addition to her career, Meg is an active member of her community. She is currently the Vice-President of Boardman Civic Association; she is a two-time past president of Boardman Civic Association and past vice-president of Boardman School Fund for Educational Excellence.  She is a current member of Mercy Health Strategic Planning Board of Directors.
